How do I run LOUD (20.04) on Windows 11 (VirtualBox)?

  1. Enable virtualization in BIOS settings

  2. Windows Key → Type “Turn Windows features on or off”

    1. Uncheck “Virtual Machine Platform”

    2. Uncheck “Hyper-V”

    3. Uncheck “Windows subsystem for Linux”

  3. Windows Key → Type “Device Security” → Core Isolation details → Memory integrity off

  4. Download LOUD 20.04 here: https://lcseesystems.wvu.edu/services/loud

  5. Download the latest version of VirtualBox: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

  6. Open the LOUD OVA in VirtualBox

Tip: If there is a green turtle in the bottom right corner of your VirtualBox, that means Hyper-V is running, which has clashed with Windows 11 hosts. Make sure Hyper-V is unchecked in Windows Features and reload the virtual machine. 🐢
