What do I do if my MicroMouse COM port is greater than 8?

  • Log in as admin on AD.

  • Go to device manager.

  • Right Click on the specific device the you want change the port for.

  • Click propertiesNavigate to the Port management tabClick the button labeled "advanced"

    • (This set will throw error if the user is not an admin)

  • Set the port to the desired port.Save and exit.

In this ticket, issues occur when the COM port is greater than 8. We wrote a clear COM port script for the non-admin fix but it did not work as he intended. The script zeroed the COM ports on reboot but when inserting a specific robot, the COM port number assigned would still sometimes exceed 8. So each robot had a predetermined COM port it would go to. The fix that ended up working was logging into a machine with admin privileges and re-assigning each Robot a COM port 1-8 like above. Now when the TA logs in they will stay to the com port values we manually changed and assigned and will not exceed 8.
