Accessing Printers On Linux Desktop Computers

If you've installed LOUD or Ubuntu on your PC, LCSEE Systems can add a configuration file to your system that adds all Department printers to your system. Please contact us to have this done.

Adding Printers to your Windows or Mac Computers

To add a shared faculty office printer to your computer, check out our FAQ entry for adding printers.

Research Lab Printers

GAs and researchers are expected to use printers and supplies purchased for their labs on research funding. The shared office printers for faculty and staff are not to be used by GAs for research purposes.

Faculty members with research labs may choose to purchase a printer for their areas. LCSEE Systems recommends leasing a printer from WVU Printing Services (contact LCSEE Systems for help in acquiring a leased printer) or procuring Hewlett-Packard LaserJet printers that are ethernet capable. We will assist you will the installation of the printer, connections to the ethernet, and desktop computer configurations.

Please note that printers cannot be connected to the WVU Wireless Networks. All access to the printer must be made using a computer with a wired connection.

Research groups are responsible for purchasing supplies through the Department business office using research fund sources.
